







Divisional Accountants cadre is one of the oldest cadres of the country. It was created more than 150 years ago, in the year 1855. Subsequently, according to the recommendations of different committees of Public Works Accounts in 1858, 1889, the duties, responsibilities and status of the Divisional Accountants cadre were finalized.
The Recruitment to the post of divisional accountant is regulated by the Indian Audit & Accounts Department (Divisional accountants) recruitment rules,1988 subject to such exceptions as may have been authorized by the Comptroller & Auditor General.
Divisional Accountants draws the Level-6 (Rs 35400-112400/-) in the 7th CPC pay matrix of the Accounts and Entitlement Offices of Indian Audit and Accounts Department.

The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding his appointment in the same or some other organisation or Department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not to exceed three years.
As the compiler of the accounts of the division in accordance with the prescribed rules and from the data furnished to him
Entrusted with the responsibility of applying certain preliminary checks to the initial accounts, vouchers etc.
As the general assistant and adviser to the Divisional Officer in all matters relating to the accounts and budget estimates or to the operation of financial rules generally.
